Artist's Description
A low key portrait of a Red Squirrel doing what Red Squirrels do best - looking cute and eating.
The squirrel is sitting on a granite boulder in the bottom of the Lakeland river bed which forms the main transit for the squirrels between where they feed and where they sleep.
The squirrel has a hazelnut classped in his front paws; a little of the outer husk is stuck on the fur of his near paw; and the low level, soft lighting on the subject makes it stand out well from the dark background.

I am a full-time Natural History and Wildlife photographer from Cheshire, in the North West UK. As well as taking photographs I teach photography at all levels and also specialise in digital workflow tuition and colour management. My passion is really for landscapes and seascapes together with macro photography and my beloved Norwegian Sea Eagles.
