A female Adder displays her irritation at the cameras intrusion by 'puffing' herself up, stretching the skin on the top half of her body so that her scales move apart revealing the thin black skin below them.
Her excellent condition and coloration indicate that she has freshly shed her old skin and is now ready to feed and put on weight in readiness for her long winter hibernation.

As well as taking photographs I teach photography at all levels and also specialise in digital workflow tuition and colour management.
