Artist's Description
A male Adder, Britain's only venomous snake, with eyes that have 'clouded' and lost their distinctive red colour.
The 'cloudy eye' is in indication that the snake is nearing 'ecdysis, when snakes shed their old skin; snakes in this condition are sometimes a little 'strike happy' because they can not see properly.

I am a full-time Natural History and Wildlife photographer from Cheshire, in the North West UK. As well as taking photographs I teach photography at all levels and also specialise in digital workflow tuition and colour management. My passion is really for landscapes and seascapes together with macro photography and my beloved Norwegian Sea Eagles.
